Libre Livre was set up
by Patrick and Dawn Robey in 2007.
In April 2008 our
workshop moved to its current premises at
the
Star Brewery, Lewes where customers
are welcome to visit us to discuss requirements and see for themselves
our range of historical binding and printing equipment. The
Brewery is located close to the centre of Lewes, an easy walk
from the
railway station or with convenient parking just a few minutes away. |

About Us A graduate of the London School of Economics, Patrick worked for many years in international finance before taking a course in Conservation of Books and Library Materials at West Dean College, which he passed with distinction. He has studied under some of the UK's most prestigious bookbinders, including Peter Jones, Maureen Duke and Lori Sauer and has a particular interest in medieval book production. He is a past Treasurer of the Society of Bookbinders and is a member of Designer Bookbinders and the British Printing Society. |

Dawn, who has specialist knowledge of the history and design of marbled paper, read chemistry at Oxford University and holds an MA in Victorian English Literature from Sussex University. She has attended courses taught by the eminent marblers Christopher Rowlatt of Prestegine and Victoria Hall of Norwich. |
